Online orders go through the city’s vendor and add a processing fee. Mail and walk-in are available.
Notes from the desk
NYC covers deaths in the five boroughs from 1951 to present through this office. Older records may sit with the Municipal Archives.
A death in a New Jersey or Long Island hospital is not an NYC record, even if the person lived in the city.
